2 Mississippi girls found in Louisiana
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. - Two girls who were subject of an Amber Alert in Mississippi have been found safe in Slidell, Louisiana.
The girls' father was later arrested in Slidell, according to Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, Police Chief Mike DeNardo.
Slidell police found 2-year-old Ela Jaines Schneider and 7-year-old Ava Marie Boudreaux early Wednesday morning at a motel near Interstate 10.
DeNardo says 37-year-old Eli Stone Schneider, who was last seen Tuesday with the girls in Bay St. Louis, was arrested about 11:45 a.m. during a traffic stop in Slidell. Schneider is being held on kidnapping and other charges.
DeNardo says Schneider took the girls from their grandmother's Bay St. Louis home on Tuesday, which prompted an Amber Alert. DeNardo says Schneider is under court order to have no contact with the girls.
