2 ill in both EBR, Livingston with West Nile
BATON ROUGE – There are two people sick with the West Nile virus in East Baton Rouge.
The state released its most recent count of people ill. In all, 14 people across Louisiana are sick with some form of West Nile.
In addition to EBR, there are two cases in Livingston. The state does not identify those who are ill or specific locations about where they live, only releasing the parishes where they reside.
There is no cause for alarm with the numbers, either. In 2016, some 40 people got sick. The CDC reported only one death in Louisiana related to West Nile last year.
