LAWTELL- An early morning house fire in St. Landry Parish has claimed the lives a 72 year-old man and his wife.

It happened just after 4 a.m. Monday at the couple's home in Lawtell.

Investigators say Willis Semien and his 66 year-old wife, Lou Anna Semien, died in the blaze.

The couple's 19 year-old daughter, 14 year-old foster child and 11 year-old granddaughter were able to escape and notify neighbors, who then called 911.

Investigators say the fire started in the living room, but have not said how it started.
