OPELOUSAS - State police are investigating a two vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 190 in St. Landry Parish which claimed the lives of two people.

The accident happened early Sunday morning.

Troopers say 42-year-old David Deveer of Geismar was driving a truck towing a horse trailer when he pulled onto Highway 190 in front of a three-wheel motorcycle. Investigators say 52-year-old Ronald Bellard, of Eunice, was traveling west when his motorcycle hit Deveer's horse trailer.

Bellard was pronounced dead at the scene and his passenger, 52-year-old Carla Barras of Opelousas, was transported to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
