2 brothers killed in Ascension mobile home fire
DARROW - The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating an overnight mobile home fire that claimed the lives of two brothers.
Family members identified the boys as Kevin Porter, 4, and Dimanie Elder, 6.
State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says the boys' mother and two sisters were able to escape the flames. The girls are 10 and 12 years old.
Browning says the Ascension Parish 5th Ward Volunteer Fire Dept. responded to a fire in the community of Darrow shortly before midnight and found the structure fully involved in flames.
Browning says there were no working smoke alarms in the mobile home.
