$1M federal grant to build on BRAVE
Baton Rouge- A one million dollar federal grant has been awarded to East Baton Rouge Parish to build on the BRAVE effort.
Mayor-President Kip Holden made the announcement Monday morning.
The grant will help the efforts of BRAVE by creating a plan to address crime issues in the neighborhoods bordering 70805 and 70802, including Istrouma, Greenville Extension, Eden Park and Midtown.
These "hot spot" areas account for nearly 50 percent of the city's crime rate.
