$1K reward in shooting, abandoning of dogs in Washington Parish
FRANKLINTON- Officials say a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for a recent shooting and abandoning two dogs in Washington Parish.
Authorities say someone shot and abandoned two pit bulls near the intersection of Pico Road and Highway 25 in Washington Parish on Sunday. Authorities say the dogs struggled to live following the shootings and were later euthanized by the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office.
The area where the dogs were found is a common place for unwanted animals to get left behind, and Washington Parish has no parish-wide animal control facility.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Humane Society of Louisiana at 888-6HUMANE or the Tangi Humane Society at 985-351-0181.
