19-year-old accused of being sexual predator
GRAY - Authorities charged a 19-year-old from Lafourche Parish with more than 150 counts of child pornography and additional child molestation charges this week.
The state Attorney General's Office said Darion Veal was arrested Wednesday as part of a joint cyber-crime investigation with local, state and federal authorities.
The AG's Offices aid a search warrant for his home turned up child porn as well as evidence Veal molested juveniles. Veal was booked into the Lafourche Parish jail, and investigators said molestation charges against him are pending.
If convicted, the AG's Office said Veal faces up to 20 years in prison for each count of child pornography. The investigation involved the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit, Terrebonne Parish Sheriff's Office, Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.
