GONZALES - Louisiana State troopers are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that killed an 18-year-old Wednesday.

According to state police, Aiden Womack of Gonzales was killed following a crash on LA 940. State Police say that Womack was driving his Kawasaki motorcycle eastbound on the interstate when 72-year-old Hazel Miles was traveling westbound in a Ford F-150. For unknown reasons, Miles failed to yield and began to make a left turn into the path of Womack's motorcycle. As a result, Womack's motorcycle struck the passenger side of Miles' vehicle.

Womack suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The woman involved sustained minor injuries.

Impairment is not suspected to be a factor in this crash but a toxicology sample was taken from both drivers for analysis. This crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.

*A previous version of this story stated that Womack failed to yield. This has been corrected to say Miles failed to yield.
