18-wheelers wreck, shut down one lane of I-12
LIVINGSTON - Traffic officials said a wreck involving two 18-wheelers closed one lane of I-12 West in Livingston Parish Friday afternoon, backing up traffic for miles.
The wreck happened near the Livingston exit. State Police said a pair of big rigs were involved, including a FedEx truck hauling a pair of trailers which ran off the road.
LSP closed the inside lane to work the wreck and offload the trailers onto another truck. They reopened all lanes of traffic just after 6 p.m., and said traffic was backed up past Albany.
Traffic behind the site was backed up for more than five miles as of 5 p.m. LSP said to expect more heavy congestion, and drivers should use US 190 to bypass the area.
