ZACHARY- An accident involving a tractor trailer carrying crude oil has shut down LA 64 in both directions.

The crash happened around 6:45 this morning on LA 64 at Joor Road.

Witnesses tell News 2 the truck left the roadway and flipped over causing the truck to catch fire. They also say several explosions could be heard coming from the truck.

Witnesses say the driver was able to escape.

This is the second crash at this intersection in the last two months.
