A Lafayette man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to killing a mother and her daughters with his vehicle.
Police say JoAnn Issac and her two daughters had just gotten off a city bus and were walking home when they were hit by Justin Paul Brouillete in 2008.
Family members were unhappy with the sentence.
Brouillette could be eligible for release in 3 1/2 years.
The judge says Brouillette was employed and a member of the Louisiana National Guard at the time of his arrest.
