BATON ROUGE - The teenager accused in a deadly shooting on North Buttonwood Drive last month has been formally indicted.
A grand jury charged 15-year-old Branikin Jones with the second-degree murder of Daylon Wheeler, 16.
Jones shot Wheeler at a home in the Glen Oaks Place neighborhood November 1.
Sheriff officials say an ongoing dispute between Jones and Wheeler led to the shooting.
Jones will be tried as an adult and faces a mandatory life sentence, if convicted.
