13-year-old killed in accidental shooting
BATON ROUGE - Baton Rouge police arrested a man accused of shooting a 13-year-old Saturday night.
Police say Adonis Forbes, 25, was cleaning his gun when it went off. Forbes is charged with negligent homicide in the shooting death of 13-year-old Murrian Hawkins. Family members say they were first cousins.
It happened around 9:00 p.m. on Tennessee St.
Friends of the teenager said they're in shock over the loss of their friend.
"He was to young to die anyway...that's why I didn't believe it," said 16 year old Carl Stephens.
Hawkins was shot in the torso and died in the hospital.
