11 kids hurt in school bus wreck
ALEXANDRIA - Louisiana State Police said a dozen people including school children were hurt after their school bus slid on a road covered in mud and rolled over.
Troopers said 11 students and the bus driver had minor to moderate injuries in the wreck Wednesday morning on LA 121 south of LA 496 in Rapides Parish.
Investigators said around 6:15 a.m. the bus hit a large amount of mud on the highway and the driver lost control. The bus went off the side of the road and rolled onto its side, according to troopers.
State Police said the students on the bus were between the ages of 5 and 15. They were all taken to local hospitals for treatment.
The crash remains under investigation.
