11 apply to be Zachary school superintendent
ZACHARY - Eleven educators have applied to be the superintendent of the Zachary Community School District.
Warren Drake, superintendent for 10 years, left last week to begin a new role as a state Education Department regional "network leader" to oversee efforts to set up new teacher reviews and a new curriculum.
The board plans to decide Thursday how many of the applicants it wants to interview in two sessions, Sept. 25-26.
After the interviews, the board plans an Oct. 4 special meeting to narrow the list to two or three finalists. On Oct. 16, the board plans another round of interviews and a "meet and greet" session to introduce the finalists to the public.
The board plans to vote Oct. 25 on its final choice.
