Staircase collapse on "Bonnie and Clyde" set, 15 injured
BRUSLY, La. - Between 10-15 background actors known as extras were injured on the set of the "Bonnie and Clyde" mini-series around 11 p.m. Friday, according to West Baton Rouge Sheriff Mike Cazes.
Cazes says two of the extras were transported to a hosptial and the others received minor injuries after a staircase collapsed while shooting at the Cinclare Sugar Mill in Brusly.
The Baton Rouge Film Commission said an individual from Sony Entertainment will arrive tomorrow to conduct a full investigation into what happened.
Two West Baton Rouge Sheriff's deputies that were working a security detail for the production company helped rescue the extras from under the collapsed structure, according to Cazes.
