FRANKLIN - State police say 34-year-old Franklin man died in a one-vehicle crash.

The accident happened around 1:05 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 90 east of Franklin.

Troopers say an 18 wheeler, fully loaded with sugar cane, ran off the highway into Hansen Canal.

The driver, Roderick Preston, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident remains under investigation.
