1 dead in WBR gas station shooting, brother of murder suspect arrested
PORT ALLEN - Another violent incident at a Port Allen gas station has left one person dead.
It happened just before midnight Saturday at the Racetrac on La. 1, near the scene of a deadly shooting two weeks ago that left a Brusly High School student dead.
According to reports, the shooting was the result of an altercation that ensued inside the gas station.
Officials say the victim, Etan Irving, was shot outside in the head near one of the gas pumps.
Authorities have identified the alleged shooter as 23-year-old Carl Richardson.
Richardson's brother, Marcus, was charged Friday with second-degree murder charges in the death of Justin Warner.
Warner was shot and killed two weeks ago at the Exxon Truck Plaza on La. 1.
Authorities do not believe the shooting was done in retaliation, but are still investigating the case.
Carl Richardson is currently being held in the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
News 2 will have the latest on the investigation tonight on News 2 at 5:30 and 10.
