BREAUX BRIDGE - State police are investigating a shooting involving Breaux Bridge police.

Trooper Stephen Hammons says officers were responding to a disturbance Sunday night when the shooting occurred.

Hammons says a woman in a vehicle came upon the scene and struck a police vehicle. He says she then allegedly continued driving and struck at least one person.

Hammons says the woman was shot by at least one officer and died.

The woman's name and detail surrounding the disturbance have not been released.
