1 dead in north Miss. meth lab explosion
BURNSVILLE, Miss. - One man has died from injuries suffered in what Tishomingo County authorities are saying was an explosion in a methamphetamine lab located in a trailer near Burnsville in north Mississippi.
Chief Deputy Mike Kemp says the trailer was parked next to an abandoned home. Kemp says firefighters were already on the scene when deputies arrived about 2 a.m. Thursday.
Kemp says 32-year-old Russell Bond died later at an Iuka hospital from third degree burns suffered in the incident.
Kemp says 40-year-old Allen Skinner, who drove Bond to the hospital, was arrested and charged with attempted manufacture of methamphetamine. Skinner was being held without bond pending an initial court appearance.
Kemp says the investigation is continuing.
