$1.4 million of synthetic weed seized in bust
PORT ALLEN - Sheriff's deputies in Iberville and West Baton Rouge parishes announced a recent drug bust netted $1.4 million in synthetic marijuana.
Deputies arrested Kalid J. Jaber of Chalmette for speeding around 8:40 p.m. on Aug. 1. Investigators said after they had issues with his story, they checked his vehicle and founds bags of synthetic marijuana in the back.
After they searched the entire vehicle, deputies said they confiscated more than 325 pounds of synthetic marijuana.
Deputies booked Jaber into the West Baton Rouge Parish prison with a $1 million bond.
