Contestants from the Baton Rouge area will be featured on “Wheel of Fortune” this fall
Several local residents from the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas will try their luck at spinning the wheel this fall on “Wheel of Fortune.” The syndicated game show can be seen locally on WBRZ Channel 2. It airs Monday through Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
The first local contestant, Danelle Miller, will appear on Wednesday, October 14. Miller, a Baton Rouge resident, is a teacher at Woodlawn Middle School. Another contestant, Kim Bye of Walker, is a business partner of Theatre Antiques with her husband, Al. Her taping will air Tuesday, October 20.
For these local residents, the trip to the show began at the Belle of Baton Rouge Casino during WBRZ’s “Wheelmobile” in October of 2008. Wheel of Fortune’s promotional vehicle, the “Wheelmobile,” rolled into Baton Rouge in search of some good game players who were also energetic and fun. At the event, locals were chosen at random to go onstage, five at a time, and compete in a speed-up version of the game show. Contestants were given a brief interview and a chance to play, while being evaluated as a potential contestant for “Wheel of Fortune.” Contestants who passed the evaluation were then invited to the final audition via mail or email.
