BATON ROUGE- A grand jury reduced charges against Jordan Jefferson to a misdemeanor for his involvement in a bar fight and the LSU quarterback's suspension from the top-ranked Tigers was lifted soon after Wednesday night.
Jefferson, who testified before the grand jury, is now charged with simple battery and faces maximum penalties, if convicted, of up to six months in jail and fines up to $500.

BATON ROUGE - A grand jury today decided LSU's Jordan Jefferson should be charged with simple battery in connection with an August 19th fight outside Shady's in Baton Rouge.
That is a misdemeanor charge and could carry a fine of up to $1000 or up to six months in prison if found guilty.
A second charge against Jefferson and all charges against teammate Josh Johns, were rejected.
No word from LSU concerning the mens' playing status.

BATON ROUGE - The defense attorney for suspended LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson filed a motion today calling for a hearing to have the allegations against his client cleared.
Lewis Unglesby stated in the motion that while Jefferson had been arrested in connection with a fight outside a Baton Rouge bar, he has yet to be charged. Unglesby called the accusations from police "unfounded", and based off incorrect testimony from one eyewitness.

BATON ROUGE- There's new video of what happened inside a bar before a fight that got two LSU football players arrested and kicked off the team.
It's the same video sent to LSU Tuesday in an effort to get Jordan Jefferson reinstated to the team.

BATON ROUGE - An eyewitness says she saw LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson kick someone in the face during a bar fight that injured four people last week.
The account from 19-year-old Victoria Long was included in a police report released Thursday, a day after police seized 49 pairs of athletic shoes from Jefferson's apartment. Baton Rouge police Sgt. Don Stone wouldn't explain why police took the shoes.

BATON ROUGE- Police say 49 pairs of tennis shoes were taken from LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson's apartment during a search Wednesday, including the pair he was wearing when a bar fight broke out last week.
Authorities say they obtained a search warrant for the apartment as part of an investigation into his alleged involvement in the fight.
At this time, police are not releasing the details as to why the shoes were removed from the home.

BATON ROUGE - Chief of Police Dewayne White wants to set the record straight. He wants the public to know there will not be a cover-up, and the football players in question will be treated as any other persons of interest would be.

BATON ROUGE- News 2 obtained a photo of one of the victims in Friday's bar fight where four LSU football players are implicated in the beating.

The investigation continues into what role members of the LSU Tiger football team played in yesterday morning's fight near a bar in Baton Rouge, in which four non-football members were injured.
Today Sports 2 spent time with LSU Coach Les Miles and heard his apology for his players' actions. Meanwhile, BRPD continues its investigation, and LSU is fully cooperating. The Tigers kick off the 2011 season two weeks from tonight against Oregon.
