    Aesthetic dermatologist Dr. Z said to start with the thinnest product, then move to the thicker lotions. According to her, the first thing everyone should do is wash their face.

    Dr. Z recommends applying toner after washing your face. After that, put on an exfoliant or moisturizer. Lastly, apply a serum that you use or any prescription lotions.

    BATON ROUGE - A local doctor suggests sunscreen as the most important part of daily skin care routine.

    According to dermatologist Dr. Z, the sun causes 80% of the skin's aging. Sunscreen helps stop that aging and fight off the sun's ultraviolet rays, which also cause skin cancer.

    Dr. Z also recommended using a Vitamin C antioxidant lotion each morning and tretinoin cream each night.
