
Short Term: It is another chilly morning across the Capital City area, but it is not as cold as the last few mornings. We have clear skies with temperatures in the lower to mid 40s.
We will have clouds increasing all afternoon from the southwest. These clouds are part of an area of low pressure that has developed off the South Texas Coast. This low will track toward Southeast Louisiana tomorrow, but the clouds and rain will be found ahead of it. This will make the skies partly to
mostly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s.
It will be mostly cloudy tonight and we will have a few showers moving through. It will not be as cold with lows near 50.
Weekend Forecast: It is going to be pretty soggy on Saturday around South Louisiana. The area of low pressure will track toward the southeastern part of the state. We will be north of the low with the rains will be wrapping around it, and that will lead to scattered to numerous showers over Baton Rouge. The heaviest rain should remain along the coast, but a few heavy downpours will be possible. It will be a cooler day thanks to the rain with highs only climbing to around 60.
The showers will gradually taper off on Saturday night, and then we will have mostly cloudy skies. It will still be a mild night with lows near 50.
The low will move off to the northeast of Louisiana on Sunday, and this will take the rain and clouds away. The sky will become partly cloudy, and we will be warmer with highs in the upper 60s.
Football Forecast: If you are headed to Oxford, MS for the LSU vs. Ole Miss game on Saturday, then you better plan for a little rain. It will be mostly cloudy with isolated showers for the 2:30 PM kickoff. The showers could become a little more numerous as the day goes on, so be sure to bring your umbrellas, ponchos, and raincoats. Temperatures for the game will be around 60.
Next Week Outlook: Pleasant weather will greet us on Monday with sunny skies and highs in the lower 70s. Monday night will
be partly cloudy with lows in the lower 50s.
A weak cold front will move through town on Tuesday, but it will not have a lot of moisture to work with. Therefore, we are expecting partly cloudy skies with only a slight chance of a shower. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s. It will be cooler Tuesday night with lows in the mid 40s under mostly clear skies.
Dry weather will be in the forecast starting Wednesday through Friday, and this means we will have a nice Thanksgiving!! High pressure will build in behind the Tuesday front, and another high will build in behind a dry front on Thanksgiving. Each day will be partly cloudy with highs in the upper 60s, and lows in the lower to mid 40s.
Tropical Update: All areas of the tropics remain quiet. Therefore, tropical cyclone formation is not expected through this weekend.
