Short Term Forecast: We begin this Wednesday Morning with mostly clear to partly cloudy skies across Southeast Louisiana. Temperatures are a little chilly as they sit in the lower to mid 40s. Be sure to wear that jacket this morning!
We will become warmer this afternoon as a cold front moves in from the north. This front will not have much moisture to work with, so I am only expecting partly cloudy skies to develop with no rain. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s.
The cold front will move through Baton Rouge by tonight and we will become mostly clear overnight. It is going to turn colder with lows near 40.
Rest of the Week: Another dry day is on tap for Thursday with mostly sunny skies. It will stay cool in the wake of the front with highs only around 60. Thursday Night is forecast to be clear and colder with lows in the mid 30s.
Expect another front/trough of low pressure to move across the Southeast U.S. on Friday. Once again it will not have much moisture to work with, so we will only have partly cloudy skies. We will not warm up ahead of this front. Instead, we will be cooler with high temperatures only in the upper 50s. Friday Night will turn clear and it will become very cold with lows in the lower 30s. A light freeze is likely! Be sure to bring in any plants that may be growing outside!!
Weekend Outlook: An area of high pressure will build over the Deep South this weekend and that will make it sunny. It will also draw in some MUCH COLDER air over the Baton Rouge area on Saturday and Sunday. High temperatures will be in the lower to mid 50s each day. Saturday Night is expected to be clear and very cold again with a light freeze. Lows will dip into the lower 30s in the city and possibly into the upper 20s north and east of town. Be sure to bring in any plants once again. Sunday Night is still expected to be very cold, but we will stay just above freezing in the city with lows in the mid 30s. Areas east and north of town will likely have a light freeze again.
Enjoy the slight warm-up today, and have a good one! -Dave
