Short Term Forecast: It is a mostly cloudy Friday Morning across the Baton Rouge area. There are isolated showers moving through town as well. Temperatures are in the upper 50s to lower 60s.
The cold front will stall along the Louisiana Coast today. An area of low pressure will move along it, and this will help to set off scattered showers with a few thunderstorms today. We will not be washed out, but you will have to dodge rain at times. Some of the rain could be heavy. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s.
The clouds along with a few showers will be in the forecast tonight. Low temperatures will be in the lower 50s.
Weekend Forecast: The cold front will get nudged to the east of Louisiana on Saturday. This will put an end to the rain briefly and make it partly cloudy. Overall, we will have some decent weather tomorrow. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s. Saturday Night will be partly cloudy and chilly with lows in the mid 40s.
Most of Sunday will be pretty nice with partly cloudy skies. I say that because the old cold front will become a warm front and it will start to retreat back to the north late in the day. We could see a shower or storm pop-up by the late afternoon hours. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s.
The warm front will move north of Baton Rouge on Sunday Night and another cold front will move in from the west. This will set off scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. Some could become strong to severe at times! Lows will be in the mid 50s.
Next Week Outlook: The cold front will move through town on Monday. This will give us scattered showers and thunderstorms. Some could still be strong to severe at times. The front will be east of Baton Rouge by Monday afternoon and we will become partly cloudy. High temperatures will be around 70. Monday Night will have mostly clear skies with lows in the lower 40s.
High pressure will build across the Southeast U.S. on Tuesday through Thursday. We will have mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies each day. Highs will be in the 60s and lows in the 40s.
A trough of low pressure will move toward Baton Rouge again on Friday. This will bring another cold front with it, but this front will have much colder air behind it according to the latest forecast models. We could have lows in the 30s by the weekend with clear skies. Stay tuned to updates on this next week!
