Short Term: It is a partly cloudy and chilly morning across the Baton Rouge area. Temperatures are in the lower 40s, so you will want to take that jacket with you today.

We will have plenty of clouds this afternoon, but it will remain dry. It will be a breezy day as our next weather-maker get organized over Texas and Mexico. This system will spread rain over Texas, and a lot of clouds over us. It will be a few degrees cooler than yesterday because of the clouds. High temperatures will climb into the upper 50s.

We will have cloudy skies tonight, and some showers will start to move into Louisiana. These showers will become more widespread by daybreak. Low temperatures will be down to the mid 40s.

Do you think Punxsutawney Phil's prediction of 6 weeks until winter will be right?

Wet Rest of the Week: Widespread showers and thunderstorms will move through South Louisiana on Thursday. They will come from an area of low pressure that will form, and move northeast off the Texas Coast. This is a very similar set-up to what we have seen all Winter.

The rain will likely become heavy at times, and could total around 2 to 3 inches around town! Since it has been pretty dry lately, I am not expecting any widespread flooding. However, areas that typically hold water, and streams that rise quickly could fill up by Thursday night. Severe weather is not expected, but a few storms may be strong and produce some gusty winds especially along the coast. It will be a cool day with highs in the upper 50s.

The rain and some thunderstorms will continue on Thursday night, and the rain could still be heavy. It will be cool with lows in the upper 40s.

Scattered showers will continue on Friday as the area of low pressure moves to the northeast of Louisiana. However, the bulk of the rain will come during the first-half of the day. During the afternoon we will still have plenty of cloud cover. High temperatures will be in the mid 50s. Friday night will be partly cloudy and chilly with lows in the lower 40s.

Super Bowl Weekend: The rain will be gone, but we will still see some clouds lingering around all weekend. It will mainly be partly cloudy on Saturday. High temperatures will be cool as they rise to the mid 50s. Lows will be quite chilly as they fall down to the upper 30s.

On Super Bowl Sunday we will see some good weather, but it will be even cooler. Expect partly cloudy skies with high temperatures in the mid 50s. At kickoff, around 5:25 PM, temperatures will still be in the mid 50s so be sure to dress in some warm Saints gear as you head out to watch the game!!

Super Bowl Forecast for South Florida: The weather will be much better today in Miami! They are expecting mostly sunny skies with highs in the mid 70s. Another nice day is on tap for Thursday, but there will be some more clouds moving in from the same system that is going to bring us rain. They will have partly cloudy skies with highs in the upper 70s.

Unfortunately, the weather starts to go downhill on Friday as our rain-maker moves through Florida. They are expecting scattered showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be around 80. The rain becomes more widespread on Friday night with lows in the upper 60s.

The rain will come to an end on Saturday morning, and then it will become partly cloudy with highs in the upper 70s. Lows will become much cooler as they fall down to the mid 50s.

On Super Bowl Sunday the weather will be fantastic! Mostly sunny skies are expected and it will be warm with highs in the lower 70s. At kickoff, around 5:25 PM local time, it will still be mostly sunny with temperatures around 71. GEAUX SAINTS!!!
